Band introduces a desktop app for developer collaboration and control of multiple AI programming agents

Artificial intelligence agentic collaboration platform for multi-agent systems Thenovi AI Ltd., also known as Band, announced Thursday the launch of Band for Developers, a platform and new desktop application that enables software developers to manage multiple coding agents simultaneously.

As software developers continue to deploy agent AI, autonomous coding support platforms that can generate application code with little or no human intervention, more and more engineers are starting to lead entire teams of agents. These agents have also become more specialized and have gained access to larger parts of the development lifecycle, including coding tools, sessions, machines, validation, testing, and integration.

Even though more agents are working together on projects, individual agents often remain isolated from each other and only know each other from the codebase – or through repositories like GitHub and tickets posted on trackers like Jira. This often means that developers must pass session context between agents and coordinate handoffs so that agents do not collide or overlap.

“Developers no longer just work with a coding agent but lead teams from one, but the tools around those agents have not evolved to support this,” said co-founder and CEO Arick Goomanovsky. “We are seeing development teams undergo a sea change as they deploy multiple agents across different systems.”

Band provides a desktop application that allows developers to see a bird’s eye view of their entire agent team at work, including projects, owners, blockers, questions, and progress.

This allows developers to switch from general views to projects or jump to a specific agent when intervention is required. The engineer can then return to the big picture in the dashboard without moving contextual information between individual agents.

For example, if a particular agent gets stuck because another is working on a key feature or device in the software that they need to advance – and they have a question about how it should work – the developer can instruct them to wait until the task is completed, or instruct the waiting agent to continue prototyping. This gives development teams greater control over fleets of agents working across the codebase, while keeping track of where each agent is located, similar to how a development team might work.

The company has added a desktop application that complements its command-line interface and integrates with AI agents in the development environments that developers already use.

According to JetBrains sro’s Developer Ecosystem Survey 2026, weekly use of AI agents for professional developers has become mainstream across local and remote cloud agents, with 90% of professional developers using at least one AI programming agent weekly at work and 68% daily. It’s harder to take a look at developer adoption of multi-agent systems or swarms, but other use cases have seen steady adoption of multi-agent workflows, with Databricks Inc.’s 2026 State of AI Agents report showing 327% growth from September 2025 to early 2026.

“Running more agents only helps if developers can actually manage the work those agents cause,” said Engineering Manager Amit Gazal.
