Atomicwork launches certified AI workforce marketplace for enterprise IT and security

Atomicwork Inc., an information technology service management startup, today announced the launch of an Artificial Intelligence Coworker Marketplace, providing enterprise IT and security teams access to pre-trained, certified AI workers who can collaborate with employees.

The company said these agent AI employees include verified roles and skills in cloud infrastructure, access management, security and device operations.

“Most AI-native ITSM vendors today don’t have much to show for the effectiveness of their agents – a listing means ‘This agent works,’ not ‘This AI agent has real, verified coverage of the systems it needs to touch and has been tested and refined against real enterprise use cases,’ which has led to companies becoming wary of agent claims,” co-founder and CEO Vijay Rayapati told SiliconANGLE.

Founded in 2022, Atomicwork started from the premise that information technology and security teams face demanding, process-intensive work and tedious tasks that could be automated. To address these issues, the company evaluated its agent workforce against real-world enterprise use cases, giving companies a faster way to deploy AI agents without having to develop or validate them from scratch.

The initial hires include an Enterprise Operations AI employee, as well as a CloudOps engineer, an AccessOps manager, a SecOps manager and a DeviceOps manager. These AI workers can work across enterprise systems including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Okta, Active Directory, Splunk and Google SecOps.

The company said every AI employee has the skills and integrations required for their role right from the start, reducing the work IT teams would otherwise have to spend on wiring systems and validating procedures.

Each agent can be quickly adapted to the internal infrastructure, company culture, expertise and business logic. This allows them to quickly generate and manage large volumes of recurring operational tasks under the supervision of IT and security teams. The company added that administrators can maintain full control over agent management and decide which systems an agent can access, what actions it can take, and how those actions are controlled.

The goal is not just to provide a catalog of available agents with a map explaining their capabilities. Atomicwork’s certification verifies that each AI employee has the integrations and competencies necessary for the role to complete the work prior to deployment.

Atomicwork said customers using access automation have already experienced speed improvements, with applications that do not require approval having an average turnaround time of about 18 seconds, while those that require approval have a turnaround time of about 2.5 hours. In contrast, the industry standard, which can be heavily influenced by business maturity and the risk associated with using the application, can take anywhere from a full day to three business days depending on the level of automation behind the scenes.

The company said this marketplace represents the beginning of a broader plan to create an ecosystem of enterprise AI workers, built and certified by Atomicwork. Third parties can also contribute skills and integrations through Model Context Protocol storage and skill registration to enhance colleagues’ skills.

“This launch is the first step towards a third-party AI coworker marketplace where partners publish their own colleagues and certify them based on our company rating.” said Rayapati.
